Fernando Gázquez Sánchez

Estudié Ciencias Ambientales en la Universidad de Almería y soy Doctor en Ciencias Ambientales por la Universidad de Almería. He sido becario FPU (2008-2012) en la Universidad de Almería y contratado postdoctoral en las universidades de Valladolid (2013-2014), Cambridge (Reino Unido, 2014-2017), St. Andrews (Reino Unido, 2017-2018) y contratado Hipatia en la Universidad de Almería (2018-2020). Desde 2020 soy contratado Ramón y Cajal del Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. Imparto docencia en los grados de Ciencias Ambientales, Química e Ingeniería Agrícola, además de en los masters de Usos Sostenibles de Recursos Naturales y Servicios Ecosistémicos y de Profesorado.

INVESTIGACIÓN

Mi investigación se centra en el estudio de minerales de cuevas y lagos para reconstruir el clima del pasado. Para ello, uso herramientas geoquímicas, como los isótopos estables de oxígeno e hidrógeno. También participo en estudios sobre cuevas como análogos marcianos y formo parte del equipo de investigadores que estudian los procesos de formación de la Geoda Gigante de Pulpí.
